Among the northern Naga groups, monkey skulls generally symbolise beheaded enemies and are used to decorate head-taker's hats.
An interesting ceremonial warrior hat formed from braided rattan fibers with a reinforced lower brim. The lateral walls are ornamented with a pair of crescent-shaped boar tusks, and the front bears a monkey skull. The headdress is surmounted with dozens of shells.
